Really. I insisted that I was a rabbit.
I also was boggled by the fact that there were people who apparently had no interest in the concept of body-swapping.
Those things didn’t make me non-binary, but they were damn good clues to it.

LEARNING THE WORD TRANS AND GENDERQUEER DIDN'T...
It facilitated the few decades of being lost and in between labels, thinking I only had gay, lesbian, and bi to hold on to. So thank you trans and genderqueer community for helping me to see that I’m not alone in this “outside of the binary” thing. And that…well, no wonder I wasn’t such a great lesbian.

It did, however, mean that I was outcast from everyone and accused of lesbianism due to my masculine behaviour, forcing me to spend years acting like a girl just to be accepted. Did it work? Nope. It just made it harder for me in the long run when I started living as male after school, my family making comments like “but you used to be so feminine!”

Having other people in my head (some of whom have been my coercively assigned birth gender) and identifying as my gender does not mean I’m not “the real person”. I am not an “alter” a “personality” or a “demon”, I am a man who was coercively assigned female at birth - I’m trans. And I would be even if there was only one person here.

Neither did it make me asexual. All it has done is allowed mental health ‘professionals’ (and I use the term loosely) to doubt my neutrois identity and asexuality and mess me about regarding treatment.
